We prepared the documentary project titled “Opening the Doors,” which focuses on the recognition of Alevis in Turkey by the state for the first time in their history through the will of the AKP government and our President. This process, which began with workshops in 2009, was institutionalized with the establishment of the The Institution of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cem House. The documentary was screened in March at Ulucanlar Prison Museum in Ankara, Munzur University in Tunceli, Erciyes University in Kayseri, Cumhuriyet University in Sivas, and Binali Yıldırım University in Erzincan. At Munzur University, where the documentary received great interest from students, it was shown in two halls simultaneously and watched by more than 1,000 students and academics. Before the screening, a panel was held under the moderation of Bingöl University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak. The panel, which featured Munzur University Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Peker, Prof. Dr. Yasin Aktay, and Ceyhan Aksoy, the Director of Bosphorus Center for Global Affairs as speakers, was followed with great interest by faculty members and students. Additionally, before the screening in Erzincan, a video conference was held with students.
