British Member of Parliament John Woodcock came to Türkiye with the invitation of our center and visited Istanbul, Ankara, Gaziantep and Izmir. In Ankara, our Minister of Interior, Mr. Süleyman Soylu, received John Woodcock in his office. Then, he held meetings with AK Party (Justice and Development Party) deputies Markar Esayan and Sena Nur Çelik, CHP (Republican People’s Party) deputies Selina Doğan and Sibel Özdemir, MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) deputies Kamil Aydın and Mehmet Günal.
British MP Woodcock then went to Gaziantep and visited the Nizip Refugee Camp hosted by the Mayor, Ms. Fatma Şahin. Woodcock, who made family visits at the camp, also received information about the camp. After the visit, he stated that Europe should be grateful to Türkiye for what it has done for refugees. After the camp visit, our guest visited the Syrian families living in the center of Gaziantep and fled the persecution of the YPG/PKK terror group and received information about their experiences. Woodcock, who also went to Izmir as part of his visit, held a meeting with a British Daesh member at the Harmandalı Removal Center with the coordination of our center. He said that it is necessary to work together with Türkiye on the rehabilitation of the members of the organization from Europe and their return to their countries of origin.
